According to the methodology developed by Eurostat, these statistics do not include companies and sole proprietors engaged in agriculture.
From the reference year 2021, the final frame of economically active units is used, and for the data of 2020 and earlier, the initial frame is in use.
The change in methodology has the biggest impact on the indicator ‘number of enterprises’ which affects birth and death rates.
