Public sector – the public sector is comprised of agencies and enterprises owned by the state or local government.
State authorities – constitutional institutions, ministries, executive agencies, inspectorates and other government authorities.
Local government authorities – city, rural municipality and rural municipality district governments, administrative agencies, municipal council offices, city archives, and other institutions.
Institutions administered by state or local government authorities – institutions administered by state authorities or rural municipality or city governments. These include, for example, general education institutions, vocational education institutions, hobby schools, vocational education and training centres, information technology and development centres, museums, care homes, youth centres, libraries, kindergartens, and other institutions.
Non-profit organisations, foundations – institutions owned by the state or local government.
Public sector enterprises – enterprises owned by the state or local government.
Person employed – a person who, according to the employment register, has an employment relationship as at 1 January, regardless of the type of employment or workload. If a person is simultaneously employed by several institutions, each such employment relationship is taken into account separately.
