.. Data are not published if the number of nights rented is under three.
The accommodation platform dataset on the number of overnight stays and nights rented by visitors has been created based on data received by Statistics Estonia from Eurostat under a contract. The statistics cover holiday and other short-stay accommodation offered through online platforms. The dataset does not reflect activities such as hotels and other similar accommodation, as well as campgrounds and parking lots for caravans and mobile homes, including campsites.
The following indicators are published: number of nights rented and number of overnight stays (guest nights). For example, a family of four staying in short-stay accommodation for three nights counts as one stay, three nights rented, and 12 guest nights.
The data only refer to the accommodation offered through online platforms and cannot be added to other tourism statistics due to possible overlaps. Starting from 2025, aggregate data for three platforms (Airbnb, Booking and Expedia) are released; no data on individual platforms are disclosed. Data for Tripadvisor are no longer included from 2025 onwards.
