Now you have come to the page, Choose variable. This page give you the oportunity to select which variables and values you want to display in your result of the table. A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

Urban settlements include cities, cities without municipal status and towns, rural settlements include small towns and villages. Järva-Jaani town (until 2006 small town) and Kiili town (until 2008 small town) have included in rural settlements.
The data for 2000-2007 are presented according to administrative units as at the end of 2007.

As of 2016, Statistics Estonia calculates external migration (the transition of a person from a resident to a non-resident and vice versa) using the residency index.
The data on females for 2016 have been revised on 20.09.2018.
